Data residency, consent, and how we handle privacy

The questions a buyer asks before signing, answered directly — including the ones we can't fully answer yet.

Contributor consent and licensing

Every contributor agrees to specific, task-level terms before work begins — what they're recording or reviewing, how it will be used, and what they're licensing to the buyer. We do not collect data under a vague blanket consent and repurpose it later; consent is scoped to the project it was collected for.

PII handling

Where a task involves identifiable information — faces in images, voices in audio, named individuals in text — redaction and consent handling are part of the collection protocol itself, reviewed at the same QA stage as task accuracy. See image data and video data for modality-specific detail.

IP assignment

Standard project terms assign rights in delivered data to the buyer on acceptance, with contributor licensing structured to support that upfront rather than negotiated after the fact. Project-specific IP terms are confirmed in the MSA for each engagement.

Data residency & sub-processors

Our data residency options and sub-processor list are being finalized as we onboard infrastructure for the first buyer cohorts. If data residency in a specific jurisdiction is a requirement for your project, tell us on the project form — this is answerable per-project today even where the general policy isn't published yet.

Compliance alignment

Formal GDPR and regional PDPL alignment documentation is in progress. We are not yet claiming a completed certification or audit — if you need documentation for a procurement process, ask on the project form and we'll tell you exactly what's in place today versus in progress.
